Do hospitals can not be funny? Think again! Scrubs gives us a weekly dose hospital drama mixed with some of the most absurd humor you will ever see. As one critic, "they look more for cheese and operation jokes gags than anything else.. However, this humor has a heart as interns at Sacred Heart Hospital treat trauma and disease every day, trusting and relying on each other the whole way. For seven seasons, we saw the Sacred Heart and its cast of interns / doctors / Patients and the eyes of Dr. JD Dorian (Zach Braff). Scrubs was created by Bill Lawrence and Sarah Chalke stars as John C. McGinley and Donald Faison, among others. Dr. Dorian recounts the events and interactions of the characters, giving us a hospital "dramedy" featuring both the heart string pulling medical cases and broad humor (often day dreams Dorian). If this sounds like a mixture that will not work for you, Consider this: "I never thought I could get into a show like Scrubs. I saw a few reruns on late night and I was really addicted. "Scrubs stupidity may be too much for some to take, but overall, it gets positive marks.

2.Here it is, this eighth season of "Scrubs" – who was never supposed to happen. Like "Diff'rent Strokes" more than 20 years, the hospital has defected to ABC sitcom for NBC which is presumed to be his last season. Or maybe not.
We never know what the creator of the irrepressible Issue / executive producer / showrunner Bill Lawrence might have up his sleeve, and be sure he pulled quite a feat to land this 18-episode stay of execution. Of course, the fact that "Scrubs" is produced by ABC Studios might have a little something to do with it. Whatever the reason, it is quite wonderful to see the return of a half-hour of this charming and beautifully made writing, especially when we suffer from a shortage of primetime Comedy Network.
The show hits the ground in mid-season form after eight months and a change of place, integrating a new crop of interns with aplomb flawless and demonstrates once again how dramatic elements merge in a sitcom without breaking a sweat.
The rolls show on ABC with an alias to two shots (two episodes), the first way that showcases his impressive range, which proved to be a "Scrubs" force from the get-go. First up is a segment written by Angela Nissel introduces the heart and ethics Dr. Maddox, played by none other than New recurring player Courteney Cox (who surely knows his way around a Comedy Series and turns in the work-up strongly here). It surrounds the actors usual back "Scrubs" led by the players underestimated Zach Braff with Sarah Chalke Donald Faison, the incomparable John C. McGinley and Judy Reyes – long one of TV's most talented and colorful throws. The opening installment spits a bit before finding pace in episode two, Glynn Turman as guest stars as a dying patient to overcome his mortality.
This is great on "Scrubs" his tone is politically incorrect, that is so good crime line is already in the mirror before you have a chance to work up a healthy dose of indignation. ABC is smart to have picked up, as the faithful should show moves with a few ticks dial. Well that universal health care remains a political chimera, laughter is a medicine, not only we can all afford, but desperately need. And "Scrubs" continues to provide many of this without requiring as a co-payment.
3.2009 rolling all shiny and new. With regard to a slew new episodes and all the networks. But as far as the "new" factor goes, scrubs has an edge over them all. A cast of all trainees stupid med school costs, a new Chief of Medicine, Dr. Maddox, played by Courteney Cox, and perhaps even a new superintendent (But I wonder if the move will last). And not only washed the Scrubs cast members of news, it is a completely new network. For those do not know, after seven seasons on NBC, Scrubs has hightailed over to ABC. And do not forget, it's Zach Braff last season on the show. Yes, a lot of changes there.
There are, however, a single important question to answer. Sure infusion "novelty" and "energy" is released around the distribution of Scrubs as a Frisbee when asked about the changes that have shaped the season eight. Proven comic geniuses like Cox have been raised in a brazen booster. And the swan song Braff should add to the drama. But the question remains, the question is whether all this reinvention of the show is actually something to get excited over. Ready? Here it is: Scrubs is funny?
Of course, in recent seasons, Scrubs has walked on the fine line of comedy and drama. One minute you have JD (Zach Braff) adrift in the land lala, a weird little fantasy come to life hilarious and you end up with milk from the nose because you're laughing so hard. The next minute, the music stops while watching a patient GASP their last breath in the afterlife. But soon you're laughing again as the humor begins to drag their way back in. He still does. This makes scrubs and scrubs.
Thus, in the eighth season opens, "My Jerks "and" My Last Words ", is the fellow still there?
Oh yeah. Scrubs offers new episodes of both very funny and full sensations.
Goofy, as always, scrubs do not somehow take themselves too seriously, even when a whole episode is mainly dedicated to himself, as is the case with "My Jerks. The eighth season opens introduced all the members of the distribution of new, redefined some Relations longstanding issue, and revamped the dynamics between the characters and the show itself. Mr. Maddox is firmly established as the new Chief Hospital and trainees are presented as eccentric and incompetent. JD and Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) is actually equivalent now (well, almost equal). And Dr. Cox finds that unfortunately, even if there is a new chief of medicine, his former role as the watchdog of hospitals is firmly intact.
In other words, many "My Jerks" was focused on laying the new foundation for the eighth season of Scrubs. It's like make new furniture: it's the same old house (or apartment for you city dwellers), but you still need to take a walk around to get used to the place. "My Jerks" was a tour of new digs. But man was it hilarious. And that, my friends, is the key. SCRUBS brings always funny, even after seven seasons.
"My last words," compared with "My cons" has not been funny. The dark theme of death is taken on the head. In fact, death plays an important role in this episode that Turk (Donald Faison) and JD even skip the long annual tradition of the night "steak" instead of spending the night talking with George Valentine (Glynn Turman), a man who has only hours to live. The jokes are still there, but not as frequent. Those who do remain, however, are brilliantly funny and touching at once.
Unlike many other comedies on the air, scrubs has the ability to find humor even in the worst subjects. A man is dead, but the journey of acceptance death through several stages. Somehow, after all ideas are made and are fined epitomes scrubs Notes laughter. And after all the emotions you go through in "My Last Words," you feel that laughter is well deserved. I never thought a rocket launched into the night sky might make me run the whole gamut of emotions from sadness to pensiveness to Joy (go watch the episode and you will understand what I mean).
Yes, scrubs is back, perhaps his last season but is yet to be determined. Braff is sure going to the end of the season. There are many changes in store for Scrubs this year, but judging by these prime ministers, I would not too worried. It looks like Scrubs remaining true to form: a hybrid of comedy and drama that made the show the success it is.
The eighth season sees the replacement Dr. Kelso, Dr. Taylor Maddox (Courteney Cox Arquette-), arrived, she quickly made many changes, affecting the way doctors treat patients. JD and Elliot finally discuss their true feelings for each other, and concierge and Lady (Kit Pongetti) marry, while Dr. Cox was promoted Chief of Medicine. JD prepares to leave Sacred Heart to be closer to his son, Elliot. Turk was also promoted to chief of surgery at Sacred Heart.
Coinciding with this eighth season, Scrubs: Interns also been launched, focusing around the house in medicine of the eighth season, Sunny Day (Sonal Shah), Denise (Eliza Coupe), Katie (Betsy Beutler), and Bosley Howie (Todd). Students learn from the different characters series on life in the hospital.
The ninth season will be an unknown duration after season eight finals and see Dr. Cox and Turk Dr. become medical teachers whose students turn at Sacred Heart. In addition, Elliot eventually be married and be pregnant at JD That season, he is also known as Ted Buckland leave the series during the season as actor Sam Lloyd decided to move forward. Ninth season will start broadcast on December 1, 2009.
Production
The origin of the show is loosely based on the experiences Dr. Jonathan Doris "as a resident in internal medicine at Brown Medical School, who served as inspiration for college friend and show creator Bill Lawrence.
Scrubs is produced by ABC, through its production division, even if it was aired by rival NBC. According to show runner Lawrence the arrangement is unusual, at least for 2007: "The show is a dinosaur, on a network and wholly owned by another" and as he is now in syndication, which makes a ton "of money for Touchstone." He and Braff confirmed ABC would have broadcast the seventh season NBC had refused to do so.
Since Scrubs is distributed worldwide in many different languages, foreign languages if the issue must be modified for international versions. Carla is changed to Spanish Italian in the Spanish version of the show, and Elliot German is changed in Danish (or, in at least one episode of the fourth German season with a Swiss accent) in the German version of the show.
The chest X-ray featured at the end of the title sequence was hung backwards for most of the first five seasons. Bill Lawrence has stated that the presence of the X-ray background was intentional because it meant that the new trainees were experienced. However, during the audio commentary Zach Braff on "my last chance," he asserts that the error was unintentional. The error became somewhat famous and has even been parodied in "My Cabbage.
An attempt was made to correct the error in the extended title sequence that was used in early Season 2, but the extended sequence (including corrected X-ray) were soon scrapped at fan and ask the network. Finally, in "My Urologist Dr. Kim Briggs steps in the credits and switches the X-ray around, saying: "It's backwards, it was m'énerve for years. "At the beginning of season 8, when the series works for ABC, the chest radiograph was again backwards.
crew chief
The series creator, executive producer and head writer is Bill Lawrence. He wrote many episodes and made 17. It is also the show runner and a lot of uncredited rewrites the episodes. Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan produced and written a number of episodes and, first as co-writers and producers of the show and their path to executive producers they left the show after the eighth season. [13] Bill Callahan is an executive producer and writer who began the show in season 4 as co-producer Executive and has since written eight episodes. Angela Nissel joined the team in season 2 as editor and became a supervising producer in 2007, she wrote 10 episodes. In his second book, Bill Lawrence is listed on the back and references to Scrubs are present throughout the last chapter. Mike Schwartz is co-executive producer, he started as a publisher of history in 2006. He wrote 13 episodes and also has a recurring role the show as Lloyd the delivery man. Michael Spiller made 17 episodes in 2002-09. The pilot episode of the series, "My first day" was directed by Adam Bernstein, who has since made 11 episodes of others. Star of the show Zach Braff has directed seven episodes of the series, including historic 100th episode "My Way Home," which won a George Foster Peabody Award in April 2007. In 2009, Josh Bycel, writer and producer Oversight for the cartoon American Dad, Deal joined the crew as the new executive producer of the 9th season.
Medical Advisors
Scrubs writers work with several medical advisors, including doctors Jonathan Doris, Jon Turk, and Dolly Klock. Their names serve as a basis for character names John Dorian, Chris Turk and Molly Clock (played by Braff, Faison, and Heather Graham, respectively). In the eighth season finale "My Finale," the JD "real" Jonathan Doris made a brief appearance as a doctor who said "adios" to JD.
Filming location
Article: Sacred Heart Hospital
Scrubs is filmed on site at the North Hollywood Medical Center, a real decommissioned hospital located at 12629 Riverside Drive in the North Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, however, the location of the Hospital of the Sacred Heart in the fictional world of Scrubs is much more ambiguous. Cast and crew of the show refers to the location of San DiFrangeles "-a portmanteau of San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles which is intended to cover a large part of California. For the ninth season of Scrubs, the show will be filmed at Culver Studios.
writers' strike and network changes
On November 5, 2007, the Writers Guild of America went on strike, which brought the production of the seventh season the series on hold. When the strike began, only eleven of eighteen Scrubs "episodes planned seventh season had been fully amortized. Lawrence refused to cross WGA picket lines to serve any of his duties for the show, so ABC Studios had non-WGA members finish episode twelve, whose studio had unsuccessfully lobbied to rewrite Lawrence as a final series before the strike.
During the strike, NBC has announced that the Office Scrubs and would be replaced by Celebrity Apprentice. NBC announced later they would leave Scrubs paused for the moment, and fill the time interval 8-9 h different specialties and repeat.
Episode 11, "My Princess, was finally filmed, [18] Although Lawrence was absent. Filming of episode 11 was disrupted by the strikers. It was believed that Lawrence had tipped the picketers off about the shooting schedule, although these beliefs proved to be false Lawrence quickly drove to the whole "keep the peace." [18] After the strike ended, Lawrence announced that the latest episodes of Scrubs would have occurred even if at the time, he was not sure where or how they would be distributed [19].
Eighth season on ABC
Amid strike-induced doubt involving the final episodes of Scrubs, on February 28, 2008, Hollywood Reporter noted that ABC was in talks with sister company ABC Studios in order to Scrubs to ABC for an eighth season of 18 episodes, [20] despite the protests of Lawrence and Braff that the seventh season would definitely be the last. [18] A few hours later, Variety reported that NBC was stowage and threatening legal action against ABC Studios. However, McGinley confirmed that he had been told to return to work March 24, 2008 at startup production for another season. On March 12, 2008, McGinley was also quoted as saying that long-rumored move from NBC's ABC is a fait accompli, and that Scrubs would air on ABC during the 2008-09 season TV replacement mid-season.
On March 19, 2008, Michael Ausiello of TV Guide said that while nothing has been "official", the cast of scrubs was to report to work the following Wednesday for work on a season "unofficial" yet. Zach Braff posted in his blog on MySpace, April 28, 2008, an eighth season consisting of 18 episodes is being production, but he could not say where it will be posted. He then said, May 7, 2008, the May 8 episode would be the last episode Scrubs, NBC broadcast, which was followed by a bulletin on her MySpace, May 12, confirming that the eighth season of Scrubs "will move to ABC.
On 13 May, ABC announced that Scrubs would be a midseason replacement, which airs Tuesday nights at 9:00 p.m. EST. Steve McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment also stated that additional seasons beyond the eighth Scrubs could be produced if it works well. At the end of November, ABC announced Scrubs resume with episodes back-to-back on January 6, 2009 EST to 21 hours.
Creator Bill Lawrence said in an interview video 8 season will be more like the first seasons the tone, with more focus on a more realistic and dramatic storyline and the introduction of new characters. Courteney Cox joins the cast of the new chief of medicine, Dr. Maddox for an arc of three episodes. The eighth season includes webisodes, is the first broadcast Scrubs season in high definition.
Sarah Chalke hoped that JD and Elliot end up back together, comparing them to friends characters Ross and Rachel, who has been addressed several times on the show. In the first episodes of the season they have revived their relationship, dating and continued until the end of the season. Several actors who played the role of guest patients at Sacred Heart in Scrubs return for the final.
Cinematography
The show off with a single-camera setup instead of a multi-camera setup more typical for situation comedies. Episode 4.17 "My life four cameras, a short style multi-camera, because it includes JD's fantasies of life being more like a traditional sitcom.
John Inwood, the director of photography series, running against his own Aaton XTR prod Super16 camera. Except for the finale of Season 5, "my transition," which was broadcast in high definition, the first seven seasons of the series have been broadcast in standard definition with a 4:3 frame.
After the show has been moved from NBC to ABC, the broadcast format for new episodes changed to HD. John Inwood believes that the old episodes will be re-released in HD as well. He protected for 16:9 in the early episodes could be aired in HD when the market evolved. In his view, images of the Super16 camera was not only sufficient air in HD, it sounded great.
Music
Music plays an important role in Scrubs. A wide variety of rock, pop, indie artists are presented, and almost every episode ends with a musical montage summarizing the issues and plot lines from the episode, and the music of these montages is often picked even before the episodes are completely written.
Members of the cast and crew are encouraged to make song suggestions, with many ideas coming from series creator Bill Lawrence, writer Neil Goldman, and actors Zach Braff (whose college friends Cary Brothers and Joshua Radin appear on the Scrubs soundtrack) and Christa Miller Lawrence (Which chose Colin Hay and Tammany Hall NYC). According to Bill Lawrence, "Christa picks so much music for the show that many of the writers and actors will not even not to me more when they have a song. They give it to her. "
In addition to the music being presented as a soundtrack of the show, the actors themselves also sing on a regular basis, as in the episode "My Best Friend's Mistake" when the whole cast had Erasure song "A Little Respect" stuck in their head and does not sing on several occasions. Farmers have increased musical accent Scrubs "with a musical episode early in the sixth season, called "My Musical". This episode aired on January 18, 2007.
theme song
The series theme song, performed by Lazlo Bane, is titled "Superman," and can be found on the album all the time in the world, and on the first Scrubs soundtrack. Lawrence credits Braff for finding and proposing "Superman" as the theme song. The song "I'm no Superman" is relate to the theme of the issue of the fallibility of his characters.
The scrubs are made primarily to a faster tempo than the recording original song. The original, slower recording was used briefly at the beginning of Season 2, played during an extended version the title sequence (which included full cast and credits Flynn), and the opening of "My Urologist" and a special edit the title sequence for which about 1-2 seconds of music, followed by the line: "I'm not a Superman, with a quick flash of credits. The original intro from season 1 has been used by most of the season 3 (except the few episodes with the very short intro), then used for four to eight seasons. [Citation needed]
